History Of Jengka
Bandar Pusat Jengka or Jengka Town Centre is a main town in
Pahang,Malaysia. Bandar Pusat Jengka is the centre of the Jengka Triangle which
is known as Felda Jengka. The Jengka Triangle is the largest Felda settlement
in Malaysia and it is one of the successful Malaysian government's project to
eradicate poverty among its citizen. The name ‘Jengka’ is well known throughout
the nation. Nonetheless, no one really knows the origin of its name. There are
residents who believed that the name ‘Jengka’ was coined in conjunction with
the name of a small river flowing here, which is Sungai Jengka. According to
Chenor Province Villlage Head, Khairul Amin Osman, the area of Bandar Tun Abdul
Razak starts from the area called Matau, the main lumber gathering point in Pahang.
At that time, a small settlement for the workers and facilities like shops were
build. As years go by, this small area has changed into a modern town as can be
seen of Bandar Jengka today. In the past, these areas were merely jungles but
now the various facilities and infrastructures available have upgraded the
settlers’ standard of living.
